Rising Main Hartlepool

Client: Hartlepool Borough Council

Project Value: £207830.00 – Start Date: Feb 2014 Completed: Nov 2014

Brief Description of the Works

The project involves the provision of a new fire main, foul drainage system with rising main and associated duct work and cabling located to the east side of the site.

The work involved service location of an existing water main, excavation to uncover the main and connection to the main with a ‘T’ valve, stopcock and water meter. The excavation involved saw cutting the tarmac surface and breaking out with breaker attachment and careful hand excavation down to full pipe depth.

Excavated trenches where shored and barriered off and pipe fully exposed to allow sub-contractor to attach a repair coupling valve so as not to disturb water flow. A stop valve and water meter where fitted and a chamber constructed with a HD cover and tarmac reinstated.

As part of the scheme a self-contained pumping station was installed and a rising main installed underground and connected to main drainage system 400m away.

Drainage system was installed to lead into pumping station with 225dia. And 150dia. Pipes.
